Golden Glamour

This tutorial was written by me on April 15th, 2010.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used an absolutely gorgeous kit by dnscraps called "Mother Love".  This kit is huge and has so many beautiful elements I lost count, I love it!  You can find it at Aussie Scrap Designs.

Mask: WSL_Mask41, available HERE.

Tube of choice, I'm using the gorgeous pinup art of Jennifer Janesko with a valid license.  You can purchase her tubes from CILM.

Font of choice, I'm using Mon Amour Script Pro.

Drop shadow used throughout: H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 6

Let's make a new tag!

Place the mask in your PSP Masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 650 x 650, white background.

From the kit, open Motherloveframeelegant and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Open a paper of choice, resize 70% twice.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move below the frame.

Activate your magic wand tool and click inside the frame.  In your layer palette, click on the paper layer.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand by 5.  Selections > Invert > Delete.  Selections > Select None.

Open your tube and resize as desired.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Duplicate the tube and move the original below your frame.  Working on the top tube layer and using your eraser tool, remove the parts of your tube that overlap the bottom part of the frame.  Make the bottom tube layer active and remove the bits showing below the frame.  Apply a drop shadow to the bottom tube only.

Open Motherloveribbonheartkey and resize 40%, then 90%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Image > Mirror and place over the bow on the top left corner of the frame.

Open Motherlovefan and resize 30%.  Image > Free Rotate > rotate right 25 degrees.  Place the fan on the lower right corner of the frame.

Open Motherloveheart and resize 20%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Image > Free Rotate > rotate right 25 degrees.  Place in front of the fan, see my tag for reference.  Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen.

Open some of the flowers and decorate the area in front of the fan.

Open Motherloveribbonlove2, resize 70% twice and place at the bottom of the frame, move below the flowers and erase the part in front of the bow on the left side.  You may want to leave the ribbon over the bow, totally up to you.

Open Motherloveribbondiamond2, resize 20%, then 90%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move to the lower left corner of the frame, above the existing bow.  Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen.  Image > Duplicate > Image > Flip.  Move the duplicate to the top right side of the frame.

Add your drop shadows.  Once you're happy with the placement of all elements, hide your background layer and merge visible.

Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Selections > Select All.  Open a paper of choice and paste into selection.  Selections > Select None.

Layers > Load/Save Mask > Load Mask From Disk.  Find WSL_Mask41 and apply using these settings:  Source luminance, Fit to canvas, Hide all mask, Invert transparency unchecked.  In your layers palette, right click on the mask and choose Merge > Merge Group.

Now add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a jpg or png and you're all finished!

Thank you for trying my tut and I'd really love to see your results!  Please use the email link located to the right to send me your tag.  I'd really appreciate it and I'd love to show it off in my slide show!

Hugs, Carol
