I'll Be Your Easter Bunny

This tutorial was written by me on February 28th, 2010.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Tools Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a beautiful FTU kit called "Sweet Easter" by Fantasymoments Scraps and available to download from her blog HERE.  Thank you for sharing this lovely kit with us hun!

Tube of choice: I'm using the beautiful pinup art of Jessica Dougherty with a valid license.  You can purchase Jessica's tubes from CILM.

Mask: I'm using another of the gorgeous floral masks available from Creative Misfits Creations.  I just love these masks, so many possibilities!

Font of choice: I'm using A&S California Plug

Ready?  Let's get started!

Place your masks in your PSP Masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 650 x 650, white background.

From the scrap kit, open one of the wreaths (Element 59 or 60).  Resize 70%, copy and paste as a new layer.

Using your magic wand, click inside the wreath.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand by 6.

Open a paper of choice from the kit, resize 70%, copy and paste as a new layer and move below the wreath layer.  Selections > Invert > Delete.

Open a couple of the cute little bunnies in flower pots (Elements 9 - 12).  Resize one 40%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Image > Mirror.  Place on the left side of the tag.  Resize the other 30%, copy and paste as a new layer and place in front of the larger one.

Now open a selection of easter eggs, resize as desired, mirror a few and arrange as desired in front of the bunnies.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, place on the right side of your tag.

Add a drop shadow to all your layers except the paper.  I used H&V 2, Opacity 58, Blur 6.

Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.

Make sure all layers are arranged to your satisfaction, then hide your background layer and merge visible.

Unhide your background layer and add a new raster layer.  Selections > Select All

Open a paper of choice from the kit, copy and paste into selection.  Selections > Select None.

Layers > Load/Save Mask > Load Mask From Disk.  Find the "floral 3" mask and apply it using these settings: Source luminance, fit to canvas, hide all mask and invert transparency unchecked.  In the layer palette, right click the mask layer and choose Merge > Merge Group.

Hide your background layer, activate your crop tool.  Choose the Merged Opaque button on the far right of the top tool menu and click the green check mark.  This will crop any excess canvas without cutting off any of your mask or drop shadows.

Now save as a jpg or png and you're all finished!  I hope you enjoy your new tag and please feel free to send me your result.  I love to see 'em!

Hugs, Carol
